Conseil des métiers d’art du Québec
Exhibitor at the District Habitat home show of Brossard
The mission of the Conseil des métiers d’art du Québec (CMAQ) is to represent, support and develop the field of fine crafts in Quebec. The CMAQ brings together and represents professional craftspeople and supports their professional development, as well as the distribution and marketing of their creations, including architectural and heritage crafts.
The CMAQ relies on an experienced and committed multidisciplinary team for the success of its mission.
More than 30 years ago, the CMAQ was born from the merger of two associations: the Corporation des artisan.es de Québec, and Métiers d’art du Québec à Montréal, thus becoming the only association recognized to represent the entire field of crafts. In 2011, the mandate of the CMAQ is expanded to include artisans practicing in the field of architecture and heritage crafts.
Our directory also includes recognized artisans who work on buildings, both inside and outside, and who have a specialized approach to heritage: traditional carpentry, cabinetmaking and carpentry, tinsmithing and traditional roofing, wrought iron work and blacksmithing, traditional masonry, metalwork, mosaics, painting in decorative arts, ornamental plaster, sculpture, stone cutting, glass and stained glass.
