Fédération des coopératives d’habitation de l’Estrie

Exhibitor at the District Habitat home show of Brossard

La Coopérative d’habitation Le Petit Quartier is a project of small houses located in Sherbrooke with the aim of facilitating access to property by developing a housing cooperative of owners. We are talking about an entire neighborhood that will be created to allow access to property for 73 families, at a price 25% below the speculative market. This cooperative model is based on mutual aid, democracy and respect between members who share the same living environment.

Wishing to create a living environment based on harmony between neighbors and allowing access to property sheltered from the current speculative real estate market, the founding members decided to opt for a new cooperative model, one intended for owners. This model makes it possible to significantly reduce the costs incurred during construction and operation, up to 25% below the real estate market price.

We are a brand new housing model that promotes home ownership in the context of a housing crisis and household over-indebtedness. This model currently exists only in Sherbrooke, but will be extended across the province in a few years.
